ARI KATA
Ari Kata is Ari’s R&B project. Her songs are built on texture, atmosphere, and feeling. Drawing inspiration from Kelela, Pip Millett, H.E.R. and Jorja Smith, she makes music that sits close to the emotion rather than talking around it. Her debut single, “Far,” is about ambition and the isolation that comes with feeling like you have to carry everything on your own. Music has been part of her life since she was a kid belting Whitney Houston around the house; she picked up piano at eight, flute and oboe at twelve, and is now slowly teaching herself harp and guitar. That restless curiosity shows up in her sound: layered, intimate, and always reaching.
